JAKARTA (August 7, 2017) – The civic administration is planning to apply the odd-even license plate traffic policy in an area connecting Cawang in East Jakarta to Jl. Rasuna Said in South Jakarta, where the light rail transit (LRT) is being constructed.

“The policy will be permanently applied on Jl. Rasuna Said, like what we have enforced on Jl. Sudirman [in Central Jakarta] and on Jl. Gatot Subroto [in South Jakarta]. The policy along the road section from Cawang to Jl. Rasuna Said will be applied at a certain period,” Jakarta Transportation Agency deputy head Sigit Wijatmoko said at City Hall on Monday.

He added that the implementation of the plan would be discussed further during a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) later this week, which would involve the Greater Jakarta Transportation Body (BPTJ), the Jakarta Police traffic unit directorate and experts.

The planned discussion would also touch on the plan to expand the ban on motorcycles from entering several other thoroughfares in the capital, he added.
